What is Tamil Nadu Medical(MBBS/BDS) Counselling 2021-2022?

In order to get Medical(MBBS) or Dental(BDS) admissions for the year 2021-2022 in Tamil Nadu Medical College we need to apply for Tamil Nadu Medical Counselling. The authority of Tamil Nadu Medical Counselling is DMET. In order to get admission through state quota every candidate must apply for this counselling by the steps explained below. MBBS/BDS

    • (10+2) or High School Senior Secondary exam by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any equivalent exam conducted by any State Board or Equivalent.
    • He/She should have secured a minimum of 50% Aggregate marks in PCB/Biotechcombined.
    • Must Qualify in NEET UG Exam on the same year of Admission.
    • Must be an NRI candidate for NRI quota and be an resident of India for private medical college state counselling.

Step By Step Procedure of Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS Counselling:

In order to make you understand about the procedure of counselling, I’ve divided the process into six simple steps:

Step 1 : Registration for MBBS and BDS Counselling:

Candidates have to register throungh the official website of DMET and submit the personal details and download the registration form and also you can upload it in your Google Drive as a backup. 

Step 2: Document Verification:

Candidates who had completed their registration have to report at the particular college that they need to make the document verification before the counselling. Below are the few documents which might required while verification:

  • 10th class and 12th original mark sheet.
  • Local quota certificate if admitted in local quota.
  • Disability certificate issued by the authority subject to verified by Medical Board of DMET if you have belong to that category.
  • Copy of the Neet admit card.
  • Copy of NEET UG result 2020
  • Cast certificates needed if you belong to any other case other than General Category.
  • School leaving certificate/Transfer certificate/Passport/Birth certificate for the proof of birth date, place of birth and Indian citizenship of the candidate
  • Domicile/Native certificate of Tamil Nadu of the candidate if he is a candidate of other state but native place is Tamil Nadu.

Once the candidatea are ready with above documents, they need to go for the perticular venue announced by the Tamil Nadu medical councel to get their documents verified. 

 

Step 3: Declaration of Merit List:

After the examintion process, DMET will prepare and declare merit list of all eligible candidates. Candidate needs to verify merit number and category as mentioned in registration details.

Step 4: Choice Filling and College Locking:

After the declaration of the merit list, the medical councel DMET declare the list of the colleges. Candidate needs to select the colleges from the list and lock the colleges.

Step 5: Results of Tamil Nadu Medical Counselling:

Upon filling and locking the colleges, candidate can check his counselling results on mentioned date in official website. Candidate can login by using their credentials and check the counselling results whether the seat is allotted or not. 

Step 6: College Reporting and Document Submission:

Once the candidates got allotted in counselling they need to submit their documents to the allotted colleges within time mentioned by DMET.

After paying the fee submit the original documents at College allotted:

  1. Original 10th and 12th Mark Sheet.
  2. Original TC.
  3. Allotment Letter of DMET.
  4. Tuition Fee Receipt paid after after allotment at Axis Bank
  5. Copy of NEET-UG mark sheet of current academic year.
  6. Other relevant documents.
