Shri Ramkrishna Institute of Medical Sciences and Sanaka Hospitals

Established in 2014, Shri Ramkrishna Institute of Medical Sciences and Sanaka Hospitals (SRIMS & SH) is committed to fostering patient care, research and education. With the motto of “Advancing Human Health”, SRIMS & SH aspires to deliver healthcare facilities and medical education that would be within the reach of all. SRIMS & SH has been issued Letter of Permission by the Medical Council of India for the starting of a medical college with 150 seats for MBBS, for the academic year 2019-2020. SRIMS also have a fully functional hospital with state of the art facilities and highly qualified and certified doctors and paramedical support staff.

About the Course

Medical colleges in India, accredited by the Medical Council of India, all title the degrees as MBBS. A medical college offers graduate degree “Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery” (MBBS).

The MBBS course starts with the basic pre and para-clinical subjects such as biochemistry, physiology, anatomy, microbiology, pathology, forensic medicine including toxicology and pharmacology. The students simultaneously obtain hands-on training in the wards and out-patient departments, where they interact with real patients for five years. The curriculum aims to inculcate standard protocols of history taking, examination, differential diagnosis and complete patient Management. The student is taught to determine what investigations will be useful for a patient and what are the best treatment options. The curriculum also contains a thorough practical knowledge and practice of performing standard clinical procedures. The course also contains a 12-month-long internship, in which an intern is rotated across various specialities. Besides standard clinical care, one also gets a thorough experience of ward management, staff management, and thorough counselling skills.

The degree awarded is “Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery”. The minimum requirements for the MBBS course are 50% marks in physics, chemistry, biology and English in the ’10+2′ examinations.

Entrance examinations are conducted by NEET- National Eligibility Entrance Test (For any private as well as public university in India) is conducted by NTA from 2019.

Duration:4½ Years & 1 year Internship

The institution offers courses in medical specialities at the undergraduate level. The course is recognised by the Medical Council of India and affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health & Science. It admits 150 students for the MBBS.

Eligibility Criteria

MBBS Course (150 Seats)

Candidates who are citizens of India, NRIs, PIOs, OCIs and foreign nationals are eligible to take NEET.

Qualifying Exam 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as core subject in both Classes 11 and 12 from a recognised board.
Minimum Age Requirement 17 years as on December 31, 2019.
